Pat is a registered journeyman farrier with the guild of professional
farriers and president of the Idaho farriers network, which he founded. He has 27 years of experience as a professional farrier
and graduated from the Cal Poly farrier science program with the class of ’79.
As
an adjunct faculty member of Boise State University, he has taught numerous horseshoeing courses. Pat has also worked as a
DQP with the USDA (walking horse inspector).
He
is a published author, an experienced teacher and has presented his lecture “Conformational Horseshoeing” dozens
of times for venues such as the Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine.
Pat
has shod over 50,000 horses including world champions in several sports during his career. He continues to practice his trade
by providing farrier services and learning opportunities through the Equine Hoof Soundness Clinic.
He
is active in promoting some of the leading new products, tools, and modalities available to today’s farrier. By demonstrating new tools and modalities, and by teaching proper application and technique, Pat helps
to ensure success by the end user. Pat believes strongly in the adoption of new innovations and techniques to help move the
industry forward.
